Irom Sharmila Chanu’s poem

posted by Mayanglambam Merina Leimarenbi

When life comes to its end
You, please transport
My lifeless body
Place it on the soil of Father Koubru

To reduce my dead body
To cinders amidst the flames
Chopping it with axe and spade
Fills my mind with revulsion

The outer cover is sure to dry out
Let it rot under the ground
Let it be of some use to future generations
Let it transform into ore in the mine

I’ll spread the fragrance of peace
From Kanglei, my birthplace
In the ages to come
It will spread all over the world.

Irom Sharmila

Her strong conviction is an inspiration for all generations to come. A single step of her for erasing the droconian law against humanity is worthy more a diamond field in the history of mankind. Future generation will always cheerish the beauty that blossom in her little but glorious mind. Good wishes for her sacrifices and struggle for the good of mankind.

  3. So pure and beautiful is her heart! O World Sister! May we prove ourselves worthy to have walked on this Earth, knowing you were here and suffering so, for us all to wake up! I take your story to Amma, Mata Amritanandamayi of Kerala! May the Divine Mother be pleased by your effort to change all hearts quickly, so that we may yet enjoy time and talks with our World Sister!
