Shri Rohit Vemula’s mother and his brother during the course of their meeting told Ms. Mayawati in detail how Rohith Vemula was harassed by two Union Ministers which led him to commit suicide.

They recounted how Smriti Irani , Union Minister for Human Resource Development misled the people of the country through her false statements. That is why they believe that the BJP Central Government cannot do justice to Rohith even after his death.

The family of Shri Rohith Vemula expressed gratitude that BSP President raised the demand for inclusion of a Dalit member in the Judicial Investigation Committee in the assembly and outside it besides other demands. But the Central Government did not accept these demands which clearly shows its evil intentions. Even after torturing and abetting the suicide of Shri Vemula, the Central Government is not ready to conduct a fair investigation. This clearly shows the anti-Dalit mindset of the government.

Ms. Mayawati sympathized with the family of Rohith Vemula and said that this heart-rending incident has shaken the people of the country and along with Dalits, the party is also committed to get justice and put the guilty behind bars.
